As mentioned in other posts and pages, I have certain interests in the latest developments in economis, politics, society, culture and history. Above is an attempt of mine to bring these five entities into connection and show their interdependencies.
Economics and politics struggle in today’s world with each other to establish that, what we call a market (partly transparent, partly untransparent). Both the economy (as represented by buyer and seller) and politics (as represented by governments) are part of society or societies (in case of global markets). Societies and culture are two definitions that can easily be confused. I interpret culture in the way Hofstede is seeing it, as “Software of the mind”.
History is actually the timeline on which the other 4 are advancing. It is of history that mistakes can be repeaten or can be learnt from. It is of history that we, as humans, as part of our culture, our society, our economical and political system, are who we are.
