Macau – LRT Update – Estádio de Macau Station Construction

Proposed Estádio de Macau station construction of Macau LRT

The Estádio de Macau station of the Macau LRT is being erected directly in front of the Macau stadium and part of the Taipa line. Scheduled to open for operation in 2016, it is shocking to see that nearly zero above ground construction has commenced. At the time of photographing only two workers were visible moving around and none of the machinery was active. Also in adjacent areas not much activity was observed:

The last official news about this section was released in late November 2013 explaining that the work area as seen above will be hoarded up for viaduct erection lasting 6 months. Judging from the photos, piling  machinery is on site and seems to have commenced. Once piles are driven there are another 4 months left for work on the actual pillar erection (steel structure and pillar casting), erection of track carrying concrete top pieces and connection from pillar to pillar to create the viaduct.
